Born Anyanwu Obinna Kelvin (born in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria), better known by stage name WACONZY, is Nigerian singer, songwriter, record producer and philanthropist. His music cuts across all ages, genders and geographical boundaries which is what makes him a house hold name. Waconzy rose to prominence in 2010 with his hit song “I Celebrate” which sold platinum. He is signed to Dv8 Media. Obinna kelvin Anyanwu popularly known as Waconzy was born on the 10th of August 1983 in Port Harcourt, Rivers state where he basically grew up. Waconzy completed his primary and secondary education in Port Harcourt. In year 2000, Waconzy gained admission into the prestigious Federal University of Technology Owerri and graduated in 2005 with a bachelor of technology in project Management. After completing his NYSC service in 2006, Waconzy joined the project management institute America where he was certified a project management professional [PMP]. While in school Waconzy gained great acceptance and popularity among his peers. He won lots of musical talent competitions, which catapulted him into the spotlight. Nigerian born music star and philanthropist set sail in the music industry in 2008 after the success of his monster hit “I Celebrate” which shot him into lime light It has been nothing but an upward path for him. Due to his passion for music he distinguished himself by carving a niche in the music industry; this resulted in his style of music, a sweet blend of western and African rhythm resulting to an irresistible style known as Afro-soul. Waconzy is a blend of two English words, “Wacko” and “Zany” which reflects in his lyrical delivery. His music cuts across all age, genders and geographical boundaries which is what makes the difference as a creative and versatile artist. Following his debut album, Waconzy released his Money Back Guarantee album in 2013 which featured songs like "Amosu", "Club on fire" and "Sweet like tombo". In 2015, he released the Waconzy greatest Hits compilation album which featured songs like "Na God", "Balling like waconzy (Ekpoh)" and "Ogbono". Waconzy has made charitable contributions in Nigeria. Fed over a thousand destitute and has kicked off the Waconzy versus Malaria zero tolerance campaign which is primarily aimed at fighting the menace of malaria across Africa and also received and Award from WMI Film Festival in Hollywood, California. Waconzy has collaborated with Banky W. (Jagolova), Faze (Champion), Duncan Mighty (I Celebrate Remix), Naeto C (Hallelujah Remix), Truth Hurts ( Club on fire remix)
