About Tony Oneweek

The gyration master, as Tony Oneweek Muonagor, is fondly referred to could have made a career as a footballer considering that no one contested the No 9 shirt in his school team with him but he chose music because he is destined to sing. While studying Mass Communication at the Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Tony Oneweek formed a theatre/performing group named Thriller Entertainment to organize shows in school. His love for music attracted him to join the Kegites club in 1986 where he became a songito; singing and playing Conga drums, and eventually a Life Senior Fellow. His Gyration Master album was released in 1998 and it caught on like fever especially with hit tracks like Everybody Gyrate, Onwa December and Okocha. Ever since then, Tony Oneweek has remained on the relevant in the entertainment industry as an artiste, actor and producer among other things. In 2014 he released Ife Di Mma featuring 2Face Idibia and soon signed to Now Muzik recordings. During the 2014 World Cup Hon Tony Oneweek supported the Super Eagles with a re-issue of his hit song Everybody Gyrate as Gyration Reloaded. Under Now Muzik recordings he has released the highly rated album Blessed a contemporary take on the Gyration genre he pioneered in the main stream. It features celebrity guests such as Flavour, Wizboy, Mr Raw and rising stars such as Splash and K Slim. His foray into politics in 2011, where he emerged a minority leader at the Anambra State House of Assembly, has not stopped the honourable member from pursuing his goal of impacting positively on the youth especially in the entertainment industry. He was the brain behind Anambra State talent hunt which seeks to discover and build talented youths from the state.
