About Bukwild

Charles Mgba (born July 21 1987), who performs under the stage name Bukwild Da Ikwerrian, is a Nigerian musician, singer and songwriter. Da Ikwerrian was born on July 21, 1987 in Eligbam, Obio Akpor. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Godspower Mgba. As a child, he attended Army Children School before going to Community Comprehensive Secondary School, where took acting and dance classes. He would later become the leader of his school's dance club. After graduating from Community Comprehensive, Da Ikwerrian's interest of wanting to dance diminished. He then started to develop an interest in rapping and formed a group called Crest Hood with a friend. The group disbanded years later, leaving Da Ikwerrian no choice but to begin a solo career. It was during this time that he switched his style from rap to reggae, stating that his true musical calling was reggae. In 2010, Da Ikwerrian released his first single "Osiebe", a dancehall song which earned him local notoriety in Port Harcourt. In July 2012, he released his debut studio album The Fulfilment. The album contains 20 tracks including collaborations with Duncan Mighty, Kelly Hansome and Frank D'Nero. Da Ikwerrian also collaborated with singer Slim Burna on his debut mixtape I'm on Fire released in 2013. That same year, Da Ikwerrian's "Na So" also called "Show Mi How To Fish" gained mainstream popularity and became a major hit in mosts parts of Nigeria. The song's commercial success inspired Da Ikwerrian to change his musical style to Afro Highration - a combination of highlife, reggae and gyration music. Bukwild Da Ikwerrian has preformed on the same stage with artists such as P-Square, Terry G, Davido, Kcee, Kelly Hansome and Duncan Mighty. In 2014, he was awarded the "Next Rated Act of the year" for his hardwork at the 4th Odudu Music Awards.
