About A-Reece

Lehlogonolo Ronald Mataboge (born March 25, 1997) known professionally by his stage name called A-Reece, is a South African rapper, songwriter and record producer. Born and raised in Pretoria, Gauteng, A-Reece signed with Ambitiouz Entertainment in 2015, then left to establish his co-owned label, RubberBand Gang (formerly The Wrecking Crew).He rose to fame when he released his hit single, Couldn't (2015) featuring Emtee. A-Reece released his debut studio album, Paradise (2016) which respectively produced the successful singles including Couldn't and Mgani. In 2017, A-Reece then released his second album From Me to You & Only You. As for 2019, he dropped his third album Reece Effect of which all 11 songs on the album were charted on iTunes top 20, with hit records such as Safe Haven, Masquerade Party and Honest .He also released several EPs notably being Gwan Big Up Urself and And I'm Only 21. After controversy of financial disagreements with Ambitiouz Entertainment, A-Reece started his label THE WRECKING CREW (now RubberBand Gang) alongside the members B3nchmarq, Flame, Ex Global and Ecco. Lehlogonolo Mataboge originates from Pretoria in the Gauteng Province. He started writing music in Primary School following the footsteps of his older brother Phologo Jody Mataboge, known as P-Jay from the hip hop duo B3nchMarQ. He got his stage name "A-Reece" from his star sign Aries. In 2014 A-Reece released "Cassper's Picture" a song that is inspired by the life of South African rapper and producer Cassper Nyovest. PH Raw, a South African record producer recognized his talent and signed him to "Raw X Productions" imprint at the age of 16 at the year 2016 became a lyricist of the year. He released his debut mixtape titled "Forever King" on August 2013 and later on released his second project Browniez EP on October 31, 2014 under Mythron/Raw X Records. In 2015 he was signed to Ambitiouz Entertainment and released his first single "Couldn't" under the label featuring Emtee. He released Cutaways EP on 29 September 2016 which consists of songs that didn't make the cut for his debut album Paradise.His debut album was later released on 21 October 2016 and topped the No.1 spot on iTunes just under 24 hours after its release. to celebrate the anniversary of his debut album he went to release his second studio album "From Me To You And Only You ". A year later on 21 October 2018 he released an EP titled 'And I'm Only 21' Which is topping charts and it was number 1 on iTunes on the day of release. In 2018 A-Reece was one in the Top 3 most streamed South African Hip Hop artists.
